Midwest League Action (7/26)

July 26 scoreboard.

@Wisconsin 1, Beloit 0: One is enough.

Burlington 9, @South Bend 2: "We didn't do a whole lot of good things tonight," said South Bend manager Mark Haley.

Cedar Rapids 2, @West Michigan 1: West Michigan manager Joe DePastino said. "We probably could had hit the ball better, but we've been hitting the ball well the last four or five games.

Kane County 7, @Dayton 4: The Cougars took advantage of starter Josh Ravin's wildness, scoring five runs in the first three innings as Ravin walked five and allowed two homers.

@Fort Wayne 13, Peoria 1: “It’s real easy when a team scores 13 runs. I just tried to throw my pitches down in a zone,” Hefner said. “… I got behind in the first inning and gave up a few hits, but then we answered and I tried to get ground balls from there.”

Clinton 5, @Lansing 4: But in the top of the eighth, Jonathan Greene hit his second homer of the game, this one a three-run shot to put the LumberKings in front for good.

Quad Cities 8, @Great Lakes 4: "We've been swinging the bats much better," said Loons' manager Juan Bustabad. "We had just one bad inning with Rondon giving up four runs in the sixth inning. That was pretty much the difference in the game."
