His career-high 27 home runs set a new Diamond Jaxx record for most home runs in a season, breaking the old record set by Brandon Sing in the 2005 campaign. Wilson was named to the Southern League All-Star and Post-Season All-Star teams after leading the league in home runs, finishing third in slugging percentage (.549), fourth in RBI and tied for fifth in extra-base hits (55).
Wilson hit 19 homers and drove in 84 runs during the 2005 season with the Rattlers.
