Something they are thinking about in Dayton

If you have followed the Midwest League at all over the last several years, you will know that the Dayton Dragons have had one good season over the last, um, several years.

Marc Katz pens this note in the Dayton Daily News. after an 18-3 drubbing...drubbing? Is that the proper use of the word 'drubbing'? And who drubs? And what's the deal with airline food?...sorry, an 18-3 drubbing at the hands of the Kane County Cougars on Sunday.
There’s an ongoing discussion around our office about just what the Dayton Dragons are — baseball or entertainment.

Well, here’s a news flash. All sports are entertainment — fun to play for participants, fun to watch for fans.

It’s just there’s a feeling nobody cares if the Dragons win or lose, and hardly ever know the score.

So what? Lots of people go to games after which they don’t remember the score, and maybe not who won.

But if you attend a Dragons game, the biggest cheers are always for the home team when it plays well and not just when the entertainment staff starts throwing T-shirts into the stands.
Then, there's this:
When’s the last time someone offered you tickets and you asked, “How many balls is Roofman throwing out these days?”

No, it’s always, “Is the team playing well? Is there anyone on it I’d like to see?”
So, where does Marc fall on this debate on entertainment or baseball? I don't think you need to click to find out the answer.
