The fate of Memorial Stadium is sealed.I would have done that for...well, about that. Gotta cover my overhead, ya know. But, in the end, I guess they made the right choice. If they do an implosion, they better show it on the internet.
Allen County commissioners on Friday awarded a bid to Geiger Excavating to demolish the 16-year-old minor-league baseball park and replace it with more parking spaces.
The county will pay $1.3 million for the entire project, well below pre-bid estimates of $2.3 million, said C.J. Steigmeyer, chief financial officer for Memorial Coliseum.
A place to follow the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League, Minor League baseball, Major League Baseball, and everything in between in that order.
