What now?

The land swap deal for a new Beloit Snapper stadium has been voted down. That leads to this article in the Janesville Gazette today:

Owners: Snappers could be sold if a new stadium isn't built

BELOIT-If the Beloit Professional Baseball Association can't build a new stadium, it probably will sell the Beloit Snappers minor league baseball team, a spokesman said.

Snappers officials are disappointed that a proposed land swap between the county and Mulder Dairy Farms fell through, but they will continue to look for a way to build a new stadium, said Dennis Conerton, chairman of the Beloit Professional Baseball Association, the not-for-profit organization that owns the team.

"I don't think it's the last opportunity, but it's the one we've been focusing on, realistically, for the last 11/2 to two years," Conerton said.
...
The Snappers have played at Beloit's Pohlman Field since the team's inception 25 years ago. Although the stadium is clean and efficient, it is also small and outdated, Conerton said.

Financially, the club hovers around the break-even point, he said. The team plays 70 games a year, but most of the revenue comes from about 15 games.

"In this business, if you have a couple rainouts on the fireworks night, you're underwater," he said.

Conerton said he gets calls "all the time" from investors interested in buying the team and relocating it, and he only expects more when news spreads that the land swap deal is dead.
...
A Chicago-based company recently announced plans to build a sports complex in nearby Walworth County with a potential minor league stadium, but the Snappers probably could not relocate there because of territorial agreements, Conerton said.

Since the Snappers are one of 160 teams affiliated with Major League baseball, the team can't locate close to other affiliated teams. Walworth County is just too close to Milwaukee Brewer territory, he said.

That's the first I've heard about this Walworth sports complex. Pardon my google search...Found it. Story in a different post.
