GAME ONE STARTER:
RHP CODY SCARPETTA: Selected by Milwaukee in the 11th round of the 2007 draft out of Guilford (IL) High School.
LAST SEASON: Scarpetta started his first pro season with the Arizona League affiliate of the Brewers. He went 1-0 in six games (five starts) with a 0.57ERA and struck out 27 with eight walks over 15-2/3 innings. He did not allow a run over his final 15 innings in the Arizona League. Scarpetta was 1-0 with a 3.48 ERA in six games (three starts) after being promoted to Helena. Struck out 31 and walked eight in 20-2/3 innings for the Brewers.
LAST START: Scarpetta allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits over five innings on May 6 against Burlington. He took the loss in that game. Scarpetta walked two and struck out four.
LAST APPEARANCE: Scarpetta pitched two innings in relief at Cedar Rapids on May 13. He gave up one hit, but no runs and walked one. Scarpetta also hit two batters while striking out four.
VS. CLINTON: Scarpetta has never faced Clinton.
VS. MARINERS: Scarpetta has never faced an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
FAMILY AFFAIR: Scarpetta’s father Dan was drafted by Milwaukee in the 3rd round of the 1982 draft and pitched in the Brewer organization from 1982-1983 and 1985-1988.

BASEBALL IN PARADISE: Scarpetta pitched for the West Oahu CaneFires in Hawaii Winter Baseball after the 2008 regular season.
RATED: Baseball America ranked Scarpetta as the #15 prospect in the Milwaukee Brewer organization before the 2009 season.

LHP DANIEL MEADOWS: Selected by Milwaukee in the 49th round of the 2008 draft out of Temple Junior College in Texas.
LEOPARD SPOTS: Meadows was 9-5 in two seasons at Temple Junior College.
NO TO TECH: Meadows chose to sign with the Brewers over a scholarship offer to Texas Tech.
PRO DEBUT: Meadows started his professional career with the Arizona League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. He made three relief appearances and was 0-1 with an ERA of 0.00.
MOVIN’ ON: Meadows was promoted to the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League in early July and would appear in 12 games (six starts). Meadows was 2-3 with a 5.45 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 39-2/3 innings.
AWARD WINING: Meadows was named Midwest League Pitcher of the week for the week ending May 10. He appeared in three games from May 4-10, went 2-0, allowed one run, walked one, and struck out nine over 10 innings.
LAST START: Meadows made his first Midwest League start on May 10. He pitched five scoreless innings, allowed three hits, struck out five, and did not walk a batter to pick up the victory.
LAST APPEARANCE: Meadows earned the win with 1-1/3 scoreless innings of relief at Cedar Rapids on May 14 in the first game of a doubleheader. He didn’t give up a hit or a walk.
VS. CLINTON: Meadows worked a scoreless inning of relief at Alliant Energy Field on April 16. He walked one and struck out two in that game.
VS. MARINERS: That game in Clinton is the only appearance Meadows has made against an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
