The Foxes had two hits in the game.

It was Player Appreciation Night at Goodland Field. Trophies went to the following players in the following categories.

Team MVP: Pete Ward
Top Pitcher: Chuck Symeon
Top Rookie: Boog Powell
Most Popular: Charley Johnson
Best Team Player: Cal Ripken

Plaques and rings were presented to the players for the Three-I League championship.

The Three-I League Post-Season All-Star Team and awards were announced. The Foxes on the list were:

3B: Pete Ward
C: Cal Ripken
LHP: Pat Gillick

Pete Ward won the Michael H. Sexton Cup as the MVP of the Three-I League.
Boog Powell was the Three-I League Rookie of the Year.

The Foxes ended the 1985 season with a loss at Madison on Labor Day. Pete Venturini hit his second home run of the season to get Appleton on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth inning.

Appleton ended the season with the best record in the Midwest League at 85-54. They will open the Midwest League Playoffs at Kenosha on September 3.
