Mariner System Report (Games of 8/9)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 45-72 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 8-7 in eleven innings to Tampa Bay at home. Bryan LaHair (’04) went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored for Seattle. Ryan Rowland-Smith (’03) got the start and went 5-2/3 innings, allowed four runs on seven hits, and struck out five for a no decision.

TACOMA (AAA: 64-56, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 7-4 at Tucson. Rich Dorman (’03) allowed four runs on five hits over 1/3 of an inning to take the loss. Tacoma’s winning streak ended at ten games with the loss.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 62-56, 21-27 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Huntsville 4-3. Brent Johnson (’05) homered and Shawn Kelley (’08) got the final five outs for the save.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 53-65, 21-27 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Inland Empire 9-8 in 12 innings. Chris Minaker (’06), who drove in three runs, knocked in the tying run with a two out double in the bottom of the twelfth. Gavin Dickey (’08) sent Minaker home with the winning run across the plate with a double.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 23-29, 3rd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox beat Tri-City 5-3. Everett scored twice in the seventh to break a 3-3 tie. The win was the sixth straight for the Sox.

PULASKI (Rookie: 31-20, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s lost 7-1 at Bluefield.

PEORIA (Rookie: 16-24, 7-5 4th Arizona League): The AZL M’s beat the Angels 7-6. They scored twice in the eighth to tie and once in the bottom of the ninth to win.
