LH EDWARD PAREDES: Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic by Seattle in May, 2005.
RATINGS: Baseball America ranks Paredes as the #22 prospect in the Seattle Mariner system.
BRAVO: Paredes took a no-hitter into the bottom of the eighth inning at Cedar Rapids on May 21. He allowed a two-out single to Anel De Los Santos, but finished the eighth without allowing another hit. The Rattlers beat the Kernels 1-0. Paredes struck out four and walked two for the win.
AWARD WINNER: Paredes was named the Midwest League pitcher of the week on May 26 for his performance on May 21.
LAST START: Paredes allowed two runs on four hits over five innings against the Kane County Cougars on August 12. He walked one and struck out five for his seventh win of the season.
VS.KANE COUNTY: Paredes is 2-0 in two starts against the Cougars this season. He beat Kane County on May 16 in Grand Chute. In 10-1/3 innings against the Cougars, Paredes has allowed five runs on nine hits with three walks and 10 strikeouts.
