Sounds interesting

I was listening to Talkin' Brewers last night...Yes, I know, get a life, Mehring.

Anyway, after Jim Powell and Dennis Krause interviewed Corey Hart and Dave Bush, they got to Davey Nelson.

Nelson was the first base coach for the Brewers until the end of last season. He has several new roles for the Crew this season.

He will be helping out on the pre- and post-game shows on TV broadcasts. He will be leading the Brewer Speakers Bureau. Those are interesting, but this last part in the most interestingest of all, he is the new Manager of Alumni Relations.

Aside: The Brewers didn't have an official Alumni Association before now?

Anyway, during the segment on Talkin' Brewers, Nelson said a little something like this:
I haven't run this by management yet, but I want to have all of the members of the original Brewer team from 1970 at a game this season.
Here's the reaction some Brewer executive had while listening to this segment: Great idea! Love it! Who's going to plan it? What date? Are we paying travel and accomodations for the guys who can make it?

That's not just Brewer execs. That would be the reaction of just about any baseball execuive out there. Heck, I thought that and I'm barely, um, not even, a baseball executive

Here is a roster of the 1970 Brewers. Here are the stats of that 1970 team. Here is the logo from that 1970 team.
This could be a busy year if the Brewers doing someting for the 50th anniversary of the 1957 Milwaukee Braves World Championship and the 25th anniversary of the 1982 AL Champion Brewers.
