Spring Training Tradition

Visa problems are as much a part of spring training as anything else and Rafael Soriano is tangled up in this situation. This story is at the Atlanta Braves home page and is from last Thursday.

Visa problem delays Soriano

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- When Braves pitchers and catchers reported to camp at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex on Thursday, manager Bobby Cox had the opportunity to welcome many of his players.

But he'll have to wait until next week before introducing himself to Rafael Soriano, who wasn't able to get to the United States from the Dominican Republic because of visa problems.

Cox indicated that Soriano will join his new Braves teammates in camp next week. The right-handed reliever, who was acquired from the Mariners in December, isn't expected to receive his visa for another six or seven days.
