From M's Notebook

This has been out there for a few days, but Ex-Rattler Cesar Jimenez (WI '03) will need surgery.

Cesar Jimenez knows the exact pitch — a changeup during the last inning he threw — when he felt pain in his left elbow. The left-handed reliever found out on Friday the news was worse than he thought: a stress fracture in the tip of the elbow.

Jimenez elected to have surgery soon to speed the recovery process. He pitched two innings during spring training, striking out two and not yielding a hit or a run.

"We'll just have to wait and see what happens," he said.

Jimenez' claim to fame with the Rattlers is that he made the start at Miller Park in Milwaukee during the 2003 season.
