Today's book is The Oxford History of Christian Worship. Page 11 of this book has a painting by Rembrandt that seems fitting for the day.
The Supper at Emmaus. On the First Easter Sunday the risen but unrecognized Lord expounded to two of his disciples on the road to Emmaus the things in the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms concerning himself as the Christ, and then he "made himself known to them in in the breaking of the bread".
