I have had a few stories sitting in the inbox for a few days and tried to figure out a way to post them, but this digest was the best I could come up with for them.

Mark Haley's # retired by Silver Hawks

Haley is the fifth person to have his number retired by the South Bend franchise. After spending 1991, 1992, and 1995 as hitting coach for South Bend, Haley returned to the area in 2005 to manage the Silver Hawks and led the franchise to its third Midwest League championship. In his five-plus seasons as Silver Hawk skipper, Haley has amassed 408 wins in South Bend and is only 11 shy of reaching 500 for his minor league career.
