What happened to Back the Jaxx?

This poll in the Jackson Sun has been to help pick a new slogan for the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx.

Then, what is this story from earlier this week about?

Jaxx hope new slogan is a hit with fans

It's a hit!

At least that's what members of The Diamond Jaxx Marketing Promotions Committee are hoping.
...
On Tuesday, the committee rolled out its plan for restoring interest in the minor-league team, now affiliated with the Seattle Mariners. The campaign is based on the slogan: "West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. It's a hit."

The plan entails a massive print, radio and television blitz along with bringing the Jaxx back to the grassroots of their home city.

"We will have a 'Sermon on the Mound,' where church groups will be able to have devotionals on the field after 10 games," said Seth Chandler, who is heading the Jaxx marketing campaign.

Chandler said the campaign also includes:

Adopting a player, where season-ticket holders can take a player out to dinner or lunch.

The Cracker Jaxx - a conglomeration of 100 college students who will help lead cheers and G-rated taunting of opposing teams.

Regional baseball clinics for young players that will include a Diamond Jaxx mentor.
