Meanwhile, in Beijing

Three ex-Rattlers are representing their countries in the Olympics.

Jon Lockwood ('05) and Michael Saunders ('06) for Canada and Kuo Hui Lo ('07) for Taiwan.

Canada is 1-1 so far. They beat China 10-0 in the first game, but lost 7-6 to Cuba in their second game.

Saunders was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a homer in the game against the Chinese. He went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer against the Cubans. Lockwood took the loss as he allowed three runs over three innings of relief.

Taiwan is also 1-1 in the tournament. They beat the Dutch 5-0 in their first game, but lost 6-1 to Japan.

Lo went 0-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI vs. the Netherlands. He was 0-for-3 against Japan.

Next up: Canada vs. Korea and Taiwan faces the host country.
