Q & A with the boss

Post-Crescent business editor Larry Avila had a Q & A with Timber Rattler president Rob Zerjav in the paper yesterday.

Question

Did the Brewers' recent postseason run add excitement about next season for the Timber Rattlers?

Answer

We certainly saw a lot of momentum from the fact they won one postseason game and made it to the postseason for the first time in 26 years. The Brewers represent a big change for us. They have a young team and people know our players are the up-and-coming players in the major leagues.

With spring training in February, it translates to a new roster for us. In March, we'll get an idea of draft picks. From there, the momentum just keeps building until April, when our season opens.

There is a lot of interest in the Brewers now. Our activity with season tickets and ticket packages has seen a huge spike. Despite the high interest, our pricing will remain the same through next season.

The media has been all over this new affiliation. Local businesses have been inquiring about sponsorships. Hotels have approached us about putting different packages together. We're being hit from a lot of different angles, which is really great and positive for us.
