Since there were so many rainouts in the league yesterday, here are passages from the story of the Bees game that made me say, "Can they do that?"
Barely over an hour after the Quad Cities River Bandits erased a four-run deficit to grab a 7-5 Midwest League victory at Community Field, the Bees had to be on their bus for the 400-mile trip to West Michigan.I thought that the MWL had a rule against starting the first game of a series before 4pm. I know Burlington must be a bit irate, because the Rattlers made them change a 2pm start time on the first day of a series.
...
Now the Bees face consecutive 10 a.m. (CST) games against the Whitecaps. That makes four straight day games for the team.
And this is the second time this season that they are starting a road series with a day game. The other time was on Sunday, April 11 @Kane County.
That ain't right.
