The Chiefs trail Quad Cities by two games with two remaining in the first half. Clinton is 2½ games out after being rained out on Friday. Although the River Bandits hold every tiebreaker, the Midwest League has yet to declare them the wild card because of the three-way race.

The Bowling Green Hot Rods returned to Bowling Green Ballpark on Friday, but it was West Michigan’s Wade Gaynor who had a memorable homecoming, leading the White Caps to a 6-2 victory.@Lake County 3, Lansing 2:
The former Western Kentucky third baseman, making his second visit to Bowling Green this season, accounted for all six runs - finishing with a homer, three runs scored and four RBIs. Gaynor had three hits, finishing a double shy of the cycle.
"It's nice to make the playoffs, but I want to win the thing," Kubiak said of the first-half title. "I'm very pleased with what these guys have done," Kubiak added. "There has been improvement. We've acquitted ourselves well. But second place is second place. These guys feel the same way."
