FOX CITIES FOXES..8

The Foxes trailed 4-2 after the Dodgers scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning. Fox Cities scored four in the bottom of the fourth inning. Pete Ward went 3-for-3 with three RBI. Jim Lehew pitched 5-1/3 scoreless innings in relief for the win.

This was win number seven in a row for the Foxes. That matched the record winning streak that had been set by the 1959 Foxes from August 27 to September 2.

The Foxes are 17-11 after this game. They are in second place and a ½ game behind the Cedar Rapids Braves in the Three-I League.

APPLETON FOXES 000 002 100 - 3..6 4
KENOSHA TWINS..100 051 00x - 7 10 0

From the Post-Crescent story on June 2, 1985:
The Kenosha Twins exploded for five runs in the fifth inning and went on to defeat the Appleton Foxes 7-3 Saturday night before a season-high crowd of 1,544.

The attendance figure was enhanced by a bus-load of Foxes’ fans.
That's pretty awesome.

Not awesome is the fact that the defeat snaps a 4-game winning streak by the Foxes.

The Foxes are 32-15 after the loss. They lead Madison by 2-1/2 games in the Northern Division of the Midwest League.
