Tommy Aaron hit his seventh home run of the season for the Braves in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Cedar Rapids a 6-2 lead.
Then, the Foxes scored six runs in the top of the eighth inning.
Cal Ripken, Sr. drove in two runs with a pinch-hit double to make the score 6-4. Later, Ripken scored on a fielder’s choice. Photi Anthony drove in two runs with a single for a 7-6 lead. Jim Youngdahl drove in an insurance run.
Dennis Overby of Chetek, Wisconsin was the starting pitcher for the Braves. He had a pair of hits, but was not involved in the decision.
Dean Chance pitched the eighth and ninth innings for what today would be called a save.
Win number seven in a row for the Foxes moved Fox Cities to 30-20 and into first place in the Three-I League. They are one game in front of Sioux City.

Edwin Correa gave up four homers, but got the win – to go to 6-0 on the season – because of some power of their own. Jim Winters and Jerry Bertolani homered and drove in two runs for the Foxes.
Pete Venturini drove in three runs with a bases loaded double in the sixth inning to extended the Foxes’ lead to four runs.
The Foxes are 48-21 and 11.5 games in front of the Madison Muskies.
