Fall and Winter Leagues

Hawaii Winter Baseball and Arizona Fall League have started play.

Ex-Rattlers in Hawaii are playing for the Waikiki Beach Boys.

They are:
Aaron Jensen ('05)
Harold Williams ('06, '07)
Mike Wilson ('05)
Josh Womack ('04, '05)

The Boys are off to a 7-4 start and have a game with Honolulu tonight. Wilson is liking his time in the 50th state. He is third in HWB in hitting at .378, tied for the lead in homers with three, and is tops in HWB in RBI with 11.

Ex-Rattlers in Arizona are playing for the Peoria Javelinas. They are:
Yung Chi Chen ('05)
Jeff Clement ('05)
Ricky Orta ('07)
Mumba Rivera ('05)
Matt Tuiasosopo ('05)
Joe Woerman ('06)


The Javs are off to a 3-1 start. Orta picked up the win in relief the other day. In fact, that win was a pretty good day to be an ex-Rattler:

Jeff Clement (Mariners) went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored and Corey Wimberly (Rockies) added two hits and a pair of RBIs for the Javelinas (2-1), who collected 17 hits.

Mariners prospect Ricky Orta (1-0) struck out three and walked one in two hitless frames of relief for the win. Starter Joseph Woerman (Mariners) yielded three hits and fanned two in two innings of work.

I'll try to keep this a bit more of a daily feature while these leagues are playing.
