At the bg league level, there were a lot of moves on the coaching staff:
Mariners dismiss five coaches
Pitching coach Rafael Chaves, third-base Carlos Garcia, bench coach Mike Goff and bullpen coach Jim Slaton have been relieved of their duties. First-base coach Gary Thurman, who was a midseason addition to the staff, has been asked to return in a yet-to-be-determined coaching capacity in the Minor Leagues.
Chaves was the pitching coach for the Timber Rattlers in 2000. Goff was the first manager of the Timber Rattlers and headed up the team in 1995 and 1996. Thurman was the manager of the Rattlers from 2000-2002.
