"They had some hard-hit outs and then in their big innings, we gave them extra outs," said Reading manager Steve Roadcap ('99 & '04). "I don't care who you're playing, if you give them five outs, it's going to come back to bite you. We didn't do the little things right tonight. But any way you look at it, it's just one game.
"Their pitcher (Tomlin) is one of the best pitchers in the league, so to get on top of him 2-0 early was big. But he settled in after that and did what was needed to give his team the opportunity to get back in the game."
