Now THIS is positive thinking

Jim Franz, the sports editor of the Beloit Daily News did a prediction column that was posted yesterday. The difference between this prediction column and others is that it is not for 2007. These predictions are for the year 2031 (not the year 20031 like in the story. I believe that is a typo). There is a prediction for the Beloit Baseball Club in the column:

“Snappers celebrate banner year” - The Stateline Snappers close in on their 50th anniversary with one of their best seasons in year 49. They not only win the Midwest League title under veteran manager Trevor Plouffe, they set a record for attendance at Franz Field (named after a certain lottery winner whose generous donation led to a new stadium being built in 2008). Franz, still in fantastic shape for his age, throws out the first ball to start a playoff series with the Dubuque Dragons.

THIS is what optimism looks like. But, Dubuque with a team. Come on!
