Deik Scram draws a leadoff walk against Poveda. Justin Turner doubles just inside the third base line and Scram beat the throw to the plate for a 2-1 lead. Turner, who took third on the throw home, scored on a sac fly by Chris Valaika.
Poveda got the second out, but walked Travis Snider. Eduardo Perez singled. Gorkys Hernandez singles in Snider and it is 4-1 East.
Rafael Gonzalez of Dayton is on for the East.
Bottom third...
John Whittleman walks to start the inning. Rattler fans, stop me if you have heard this one before...Brandon Buckman of Quad Cities doubles to the gap and Whittleman scores. Gonzalez gets out of the inning with no more damage. East still leads 4-2.
Brandon Dickson is on for the West to start the fourth inning.
