SEATTLE (MAJ: 35-30; 3rd AL West): The Mariners lost 9-4 at Houston. Cha Seung Baek (WI ’00) gave up six runs on seven hits over four innings and took the loss. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) worked two scoreless innings and Eric O’Flaherty (WI ’05) pitched one scoreless inning out of the Mariner bullpen.
TACOMA (AAA: 28-42; 4th Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 6-5 to Tucson in ten innings. Oswaldo Navarro (WI ’05) homered and drove in a pair of runs for Tacoma. The Rainiers led 5-4, but the Sidewinders tied the game with a run in the top of the ninth and scored a run in the tenth for the win.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 30-39; 3rd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 5-2 at Tennessee. Marshall Hubbard (WI ’05) homered and drove in both runs for West Tennessee. Joe Woerman (WI ’06) gave up twelve hits and five runs over seven innings for the loss.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 30-39; 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Rancho Cucamonga 7-5. Jesus Guzman hit a pair of homers and drove in six runs for High Desert. Aaron Jensen (WI ’05) pitched three scoreless innings in his first start since April 22. Cibney Bello (WI ’05) pitched three innings and gave up five runs and got the win.
