Kevin Krause appreciated the irony when the person handing out T-shirts at the gate at Tuesday’s Midwest League All-Star Game told hhim he had been given the last one.
“It’s fitting, I guess,” said Krause, who in all likelihood watched his final all-star game as the team president of the Swing of the Quad-Cities.Not only did Monday’s league approval move the sale of the Quad-Cities franchise to Dave Heller and Bob Herrfeldt one step closer to reality, it also moved Krause one step closer to the end of his nine years as team president.
“There are mixed emotions right now. This has been an emotional decision for a long time, but I’m of the mind at this point that this is the best thing moving forward,” Krause said.
A place to follow the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League, Minor League baseball, Major League Baseball, and everything in between in that order.
