Whatever happened to....

Denny Stark?

Stark was a Timber Rattler in 1997 and was 6-3 with a 1.97ERA over 16 games (15 starts). He moved up to Lancaster later in that season. Stark had brief stints with the Mariners in 1999 and 2001. I'll have Bleeding Blue and Teal pick it up from there.
Denny Stark was a piece of one of the uglier trades in Seattle Mariners history when he was dealt alongside Brian Feuntes and Jose Paniagua to the Colorado Rockies for third baseman Jeff Cirillo in 2001. Cirillo, as we all know, was a complete bust.
Before continuing with this post, a quick tip. If you really want to get under the skin of a Mariner fan, bring up the Cirillo trade. Brewer fans have a special edge in this because Cirillo had some good to very good seasons with the Crew. Back to the post.

Here's the link to the post on Geoff Baker's blog, which is being updated by Jose Romero, who has been filling in while Baker is on vacation, which explains what happened to Denny Stark.
The Mariners announced that they have signed RHP Denny Stark to a minor-league contract. Stark, 33, was originally drafted by the Mariners in the fourth round of the 1996 amateur draft and made his major-league debut on Sept. 15, 1999.
Stark has not pitched since 2005 due to a pair of Tommy John surgeries.
