Here is how the Rattlers have fared on May 20…since 2000
2000: The Rattlers and Whitecaps split a day-night doubleheader in Grand Chute.
GAME ONE:
Cha Seung Baek struck out ten over seven innings for the win and Chris Snelling hit a two-run homer as the Rattlers won the day game 3-2.
GAME TWO:
Gorky Estrella drove in four runs, but West Michigan scored eight runs in the sixth inning for an 11-8 win. Rattler record after this game: 20-20.
2001: Cedar Rapids beat the Rattlers 6-1 in Grand Chute. Pedro Liriano homered for the only Wisconsin run. Rattler record after this game: 26-17
2002: The Rattlers beat Peoria 7-6 at home. Jason Rainey drove in three runs and Shin-soo Choo and Alejandro Cadena hit back-to-back homers in the seventh inning. Rattler record after this game: 20-23
2003: The Rattlers lost 2-0 at Peoria. TA Fulmer pitched seven shutout innings for a no decision. The Chiefs scored two runs off Renee Cortez in the eighth. Rattler record after this game: 24-19
2004: The Rattlers beat West Michigan 9-5 at home, Eval Bastida knocked in three runs. A four-run sixth inning broke a 5-5 tie. Rattler record after this game: 17-23
2005: The Rattlers beat Clinton 4-0 at home. Mark Lowe, Cibney Bello, Steve Grasley, Kendall Bergdall, and Craig James combined on a two-hitter. Asdrubal Cabrera drove in a pair of runs. Rattler record after this game: 23-18
2006: The Bees beat the Rattlers 4-1 in Grand Chute. Jose Escalona allowed one hit and no runs (with five walks) over six innings, but had a 1-0 lead thanks to Jeffery Dominguez scoring a first inning run on a throwing error. But, Edgar Guaramato allowed four runs in the top of the ninth. Rattler record after this game: 17-25
2007: Lansing beat the Rattlers 2-1 in Grand Chute. Matt Lane had three hits, including a two-run single in the sixth off Chris Tillman, for Lansing. Rattler record after this game: 11-29
A 4-5 record on May 20 is mostly a push. But, I think my favorite game was the five pitcher combined shutout of Clinton in 2005.
