Mariner System Report (Games of 5/24)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 18-32 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 12-6 at New York. Carlos Silva allowed seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits over six innings for the loss. The score was tied 4-4 after the top of the third inning, but the Yankees scored once in the third, twice in the sixth, and five times in the seventh. Seattle has lost five straight.

TACOMA (AAA: 23-25, T-3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 11-4 at Colorado Springs. Jeff Clement (’05) and Yung Chi Chen (’05) both had two hits and Clement had two RBI for Tacoma. But, the Rainiers lost their fourth straight.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 31-18, T-1st Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Chattanooga 5-2. Mike Wilson (’05) homered and drove in two runs for West Tennessee. Justin Thomas (’06) allowed two first inning runs, but nothing else over 6-2/3 innings for the win. Mumba Rivera (’05) pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his eighth save.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 23-26, T-1st California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Inland Empire 12-3. Leury Bonilla (’07) homered and drove in three runs for High Desert. Korey Feiner (’08) also drove in three runs for the Mavs. Keith Renaud (’07) allowed three runs over five innings for his first California League win. High Desert has won four straight.
