Mariner System Report (Games of 5/25)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 18-33 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 6-5 at New York. Seattle led 5-2 heading into the bottom of the eighth. But, the Yankees scored four times in the eighth and beat the Mariners, who have lost six straight.

TACOMA (AAA: 24-25, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers won 4-3 at Colorado Springs. Yung Chi Chen (’05) homered and Jeff Clement (’05) drove in a run as part of a three run eighth inning.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 32-18, 1st Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Chattanooga 5-4. Luis Valbuena (’06) drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the ninth inning.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 24-26, 1st California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Rancho Cucamonga 4-2. Anthony Varvaro (’07) allowed one run and struck out nine over 5-2/3 innings for his first California League win. Carlos Peguero (’07) drove in a pair of runs and Shawn Kelley got the save for the Mavs. High Desert has won five straight games.
