SEATTLE (MAJ: 55-85 4th American League West): The Mariners beat the Yankees 3-1. Brandon Morrow took a no-hitter through 7-2/3 innings before allowing an RBI double to Wilson Betemit. Justin Thomas ('06) got the final out of the eighth inning and JJ Putz ('00) pitched a scoreless ninth for the save. Matt Tuiasosopo ('05) got the start at third base, went 1-for-4, and picked up his first major league hit.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 70-68, 28-38 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx trail their best-of-five first round playoff series with Carolina 0-2. There was an off day for travel last night.
