Surgery not keeping Clement down
Catcher set to undergo season-ending procedure Tuesday
The regular season has ended for catcher Jeff Clement, who will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Tuesday, but he did enough during his 66-game stint with the Mariners to prove that his future is in the Major Leagues. The story mentions that it is not serious. Here's hopingAnd having two healthy knees would be a good start toward next season.
"It has been pretty sore for the last month," the 25-year-old receiver said on Sunday. "I tried to rest it a little bit, but it didn't get any better, so we had an MRI on it last Thursday and it showed the tears."
On a lighter note, The Everett Herald had this from 9/5 on local boy (and ex-Rattler) made good.
It's Tui time with the Mariners
Before Tuiasosopo became a highly sought athlete out of Woodinville High School, he was a Mariners fan. And, if you want to feel old, just let Tuiasosop describe his memory of the Mariners' playoff victory over the Yankees in 1995.Cue comment from The Kid in 3...2...
"My dad and my brother and I were at that last game in 95 when Junior scored," he said.
How old was he then?
"Nine."
