Most Optimistic Headline Ever!...EVER!

Not too late for Dragons to finish strong
Dayton’s Midwest League entry opens a four-game series tonight, Aug. 21, against the Lake County Captains in search of its first home win since June 28. After beating Fort Wayne 15-10 on that date, the Dragons are 0-24 at their always-sold-out downtown lair.

It’s the longest streak of its kind at any level in the minor leagues since at least 2005. The major league record for consecutive home losses belongs to the St. Louis Browns, who dropped 20 in a row in 1953 before becoming the Baltimore Orioles.
...
Since their last Fifth Third Field triumph, the Dragons have:
• Been outscored 173-79 at home.
• Committed 32 errors at home compared to 14 for their opponents.
• Managed to go 11-12 on the road, with a six-game winning streak from July 4-9.
• Lost three extra-inning games at home, including a 16-inning marathon.
• Had the winning run on base in the bottom of the ninth or later five times at home.
• Taken delivery on nine players from Billings and seen six others promoted to Lynchburg, including run-producing first baseman Chris Richburg, whose shoes were too big to fill.
I really hope that the Dragons end this streak...and soon!
