Cougars stadium gets funds to expand
The Kane County Forest Preserve District this week sold $8 million in bonds to fund most of the renovation of Elfstrom Stadium here. The stadium expansion includes a second deck of seating, additional private boxes, restrooms and concession areas. Skender Construction Co., of Palos Hills, was the low bidder for the project at $10.57 million.
The Kane County Cougars, the Class A Midwest League team that plays at Elfstrom Stadium, will pay for the difference between the $8 million from the commission and the $10.57 million cost.
This has been in the works for a long time and a lot of hard work has gone into it. Can't wait to see the finished product.
