Cal Ripken, Sr. with a two-out RBI triple in the bottom of the eighth broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Foxes their sixth straight win.

The Big News from the day was this:

Gillick moved to Vancouver
Fox Cities' Pat Gillick, the leading southpaw pitcher in the Three-I League has been assigned outright to Vancouver of the Pacific Coast League, Foxes and Baltimore officials announced Tuesday.

Gillick was die to make his first appearance after his promotion against Salt Lake on Thursday night.

Gillick's outstanding record here included an 11-2 won-loss record, a 1.91 Earned Run Average and 135 strikeouts in 132 innings.
The victory over the Bees gave the Foxes a 59-39 record and pushed their lead over Sioux City up to five games.

John Stein turned over a 7-6 lead to Dave White in the top of the ninth. But, a two-out RBI single by Dan Boever tied the game.

Wes Kent stepped in with runners on first and second and one out in the bottom of the 12th and drove in the winning run for the Foxes.

White? Oh, he went 4-2/3, didn't allow another run, and picked up the win.

The Foxes won their fifth straight and for the tenth time in 11 games. That moved their record to 70-37. The Foxes' lead in the Northern Division of the Midwest League over second place Kenosha is 14.5 games.
