The Foxes trailed 2-1 until the Braves scored six runs in the top of the eighth to take a big lead.  Fox Cities had 10 hits, but stranded 11 runners.

It was noted in the story from the Post-Crescent that Milwaukee Braves General Manager John McHale was in attendance at Goodland Field for the game.

The Foxes are 59-40 on the season.  They are still in first place in the Three-I League, but their lead is down to four games over Sioux City.

Those two runs for the Reds in the top of the first inning were on back-to-back homers by Eddie Williams and Dan Boever.  Appleton did come back to take a 3-2 lead, but the Reds got back evened the game on a Mike Berry RBI single in the fifth.  In the sixth, Williams tripled and scored on a wild pitch to put the Reds up 4-3.

The loss ended a five game winning streak for the Foxes.  They are 70-38 on the season.  Appleton leads the Northern Division of the Midwest League by 13-1/2 games over Kenosha.
