The first place Foxes took on the second place Soos at Goodland Field. They also took on Diego Segui.

Segui, a future major leaguer, had already beaten the Foxes three times during the 1960 season. He made it four wins over Fox Cities with a complete game 5-hit shutout. Segui ran his scoreless streak against the Foxes to 21 innings.

Bob Saverine did have one of the hits to run his hitting streak to 10 games.

The Foxes are 66-41. They are still in first place in the Three-I League, but their lead over the Soos is down to 5.5 games.

Tony Menendez was 11-3 heading into this game against the Southern Division leading Chiefs. He gave up seven runs (one earned) on seven hits over 4-2/3 innings and took his fourth loss of the season.

Jeff Pico allowed two runs over seven innings and pitched around five walks for the win.

A three-run homer by Mark Solz in the bottom of the third inning broke the game open. The six-run seventh inning came off Mark Ruckbeil.

The loss dropped the Foxes to 75-41. They still lead the Northern Division of the Midwest.
