Brewers System Report: Games of August 7, 2010

MILWAUKEE (MAJ: 52-59; National League Central): The Brewers beat the Astros 5-2. Rickie Weeks hit an inside the park home run in the first inning and George Kottaras added a home run later in the game for the Brewers.

NASHVILLE (AAA: 59-55; Pacific Coast League American Northern Division): The Sounds lost 7-4 at Reno. The Aces scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-0 lead. Brendan Katin and Joe Koshansky both hit homers for Nashville.

HUNTSVILLE (AA: 57-55 overall; 24-18 second half; Southern League North Division): The Stars lost 9-2 at Tennessee. The Smokies scored six runs in the first inning off Michael Bowman (’09). Bowman went four innings and allowed nine runs on 11 hits.

BREVARD COUNTY (Advanced-A: 52-59; 25-17 second half; Florida State League North Division): The Manatees beat Bradenton 5-4. Brock Kjeldgaard (’09) homered in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game. Brevard County scored the go ahead run in the top of the ninth.

HELENA (Rookie: 23-23 overall; 4-4 second half; Pioneer League North Division): The Brewers lost 15-2 at Great Falls. Tyler Cravy allowed six runs on seven hits over two innings to take the loss.

AZL BREWERS (Rookie: 24-13; Arizona League Central Division): The Brewers led the Cubs 2-0 heading to the bottom of the ninth inning. The Cubs scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, but the game was suspended with two outs and the tying run at third base.
