Mariner System Report (Games of 8/16)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 46-76 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 7-6 at Minnesota. The Twins scored five times in the first two innings against Ryan-Roland-Smith (’03). But the Seattle offense rallied with six runs in the sixth inning. However, Minnesota scored a run in the eighth to tie the game and a run in the ninth to beat Seattle.

TACOMA (AAA: 68-59, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 4-2 at Sacramento. Matt Tuiasosopo (’05) drove in both Tacoma runs with a two-run homer in the first inning, but that was it for the offense.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 64-60, 22-30 4th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx split a doubleheader with Carolina. West Tennessee won game one 12-5 with home runs by Brent Johnson (’05), Johan Limonta (’06), and Mike Wilson (’05). Carolina won game two 7-5 with four runs in the top of the sixth.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 53-72, 21-34 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 4-3 at Visalia. Jamie McOwen (’07) homered as part of a three run first inning. But, the Oaks rallied with two runs in the third, one in the eighth, and one in the ninth. The loss was High Desert's seventh straight.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 26-33, 3rd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox won 6-5 over Eugene. Everett scored five runs in the fourth inning for a 6-1 lead. The Sox held off a late charge by the Emeralds, who scored single runs in the sixth through ninth innings.

PULASKI (Rookie: 36-22, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s won 8-4 at Greeneville.

PEORIA (Rookie: 17-27, 8-9 5th Arizona League): The AZL M’s lost 9-1 to the Athletics.
