Game story
The Milwaukee Brewers didn't lose Game 2 of the National League Division Series because CC Sabathia finally proved to be human.

The Brewers fell into do-or-die mode because, when not hitting dramatic, late-inning homers to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, they have been incapable of scoring enough runs to win.

"We have to find a way to swing the bats better," leftfielder Ryan Braun said Thursday night after the Brewers posed little resistance in a 5-2 loss to Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park.

"We need to put together better at-bats, swing at better pitches, give ourselves an opportunity to score runs. It's hard when you only have one or two opportunities to score. We haven't had many guys in scoring position the whole series."

Tenuous Timber Rattler Tie-in: The last two times the Timber Rattlers made it to the Midwest League Championship Series (1999, 2005) they lost the first two games of the best-of-five series on the road. Wisconsin won the next two games, but lost Game Five.
