Boog Powell hit a pair of homers (to give him five in the last five games) and he also drove in three runs for the Foxes. That was more than enough for Pat Gillick to pick up another win.
Do you know who else drove in three runs for the Foxes? Earl Weaver. That's who.
The Foxes are now 47-30 and lead Sioux City by six games in the Three-I League pennant chase.

Troy Thomas drove in the go ahead run with a two-out single in the bottom of the sixth.
Tony Menendez pitched 8-1/3 innings, scattered seven hits, walked four, and struck out four to pick up his 10th win of the season. But, he needed some help.
In the seventh, the Giants loaded the bases with one out, but Menendez got a 4-3 double play to get out of the inning.
In the eighth, he hit the leadoff batter. But, a 4-6-3 double play ended the threat.
In the ninth, a one out double put the tying run at second and drove Menendez from the game. Jeff Anderson entered the game and gave up a line drive to Bill Smith. Fortunately, the line drive was at Pete Venturini and the Foxes doubled the tying run off second to end the game!
The win moves the Foxes record to 57-33. They are 11.5 games up on Madison in the Northern Division of the Midwest League.
