In the Seattle Times today, JJ Putz talks about learning a splitter grip from Eddie Guardado. JJ, who was one of the funniest Rattlers in my time with the team, describes his splitter from last year like this:
"It was a pitch I just didn't know what the hell it was going to do. It looked like a fastball, a little slower. ... I don't know where it's going to go, but good luck catching it."
