Mariner System Report For Games 5/16

Seattle (MAJ: 17-23; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 12-6 at Oakland. The Athletics scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Felix Hernandez (WI ’03) gave up ten runs (five earned) over four innings and took the loss. Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez homered and drove in two runs for the Mariners.

Tacoma (AAA – 19-18; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 7-5 to Albuquerque. Adam Jones (WI ’04) and Hunter Brown (WI ’02) each had a pair of RBI during a five run bottom of the fourth inning. But, the Rainiers could not hold the 5-3 lead. Cha Seung Baek (WI ’00) allowed seven runs (four earned) and took the loss.

San Antonio (AA – 13-22; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions lost 3-2 to Frisco. The Missions took a 2-0 lead into the top of the ninth inning, but Jon Huber gave up three runs for a blown save. San Antonio managed just four hits on the game.


Inland Empire (High-A – 21-17; T-1st California League South Division): The 66ers lost 2-0 at Lake Elsinore. Inland Empire managed five hits in the loss. Cibney Bello (WI ’05) struck out six, but gave up one run on three hits and six walks over four innings to take the loss.
