Monday in the MWL

@Burlington 3, Wisconsin 2 (10 innings) -- Much better game than Sunday, but a tough loss for the Rattlers.

Cedar Rapids 2, @Clinton 1 -- Larry Infante had one of three hits for the Kernels. But, that hit was a two run homer. Enough for Cedar Rapids to beat the L-Kings.

@Beloit 8, Quad Cities 6 -- Beloit rallies late again. They scored four in the eighth -- two off former Rattler Brian Stitt -- for the win.

South Bend 5, @Fort Wayne 4 (11 innings) -- The Wizards lose their sixth straight. When you are in a rut, the calls don't go your way.

Kane County 8, @Peoria 2 -- Not even MARK PRIOR can cool off the Cougars. Jose Pineda homered off Prior and the Cougars have opened up a 2-1/2 game lead on the Chiefs. PRIOR may return to pitch for the Chiefs again on Saturday. Hopefully, he wont do this:

Chiefs third baseman Brandon Taylor and closer Ed Campusano felt sick after accidentally drinking ammonia water in the dugout before the game. Players often put ammonia water on their heads to keep cool on hot days. Taylor and Campusano believed they were drinking out of a regular water cooler.

@West Michigan 6, Dayton 5 -- Justice is visited upon the Dragons! Justin Justice triples in the tying run and scores the go ahead run in the bottom of the 7th.

Lansing 2, @Southwest Michigan 0 -- The D-Rays offense can't get going against the Lugnuts.
