Seattle (MAJ: 21-26; 3rd AL West): The Mariners lost 14-4 to the Orioles. Joel Pineiro (WI ’98) gave up five runs on ten hits over five innings for the loss. The Orioles scored nine times in the top of the ninth – four off JJ Putz (WI ’00).
Tacoma (AAA – 21-22; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Memphis 5-2. Michael Garciaparra (WI ’03) had a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning to help the Rainiers rally. Tacoma scored three runs in the top of the ninth to snap a 2-2 tie. Renee Cortez (WI ’03) pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the win. Emiliano Fruto (WI ’02) gave pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.
San Antonio (AA – 17-25; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions won 7-3 at Tulsa. Jason Mackintosh (WI ’04) pitched 7-1/3 innings and allowed two runs on eight hits for the win. Bryan LaHair (WI ’04) had four hits and three RBi for San Antonio.
Inland Empire (High-A – 26-19; 1st California League South Division): Inland Empire beat Lake Elsinore 2-1. Robert Rohrbaugh (WI ‘05) pitched five scoreless innings for the win. The offense was led by Reed Eastly’s home run and Brian Schweiger’s RBI single.
