Seattle (MAJ: 17-24; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 7-2 at Oakland. Richie Sexson had three of Seattle’s twelve hits. Emiliano Fruto (WI ’00) pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Jamie Moyer.
Tacoma (AAA – 19-18; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma was off yesterday.
San Antonio (AA – 13-23; 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost to Corpus Christi 7-4. Justin Ruchti (WI ’04) drove in one of the four runs for the Missions. San Antonio had runners at second and third with no outs in the bottom of the ninth, but could not score.
Inland Empire (High-A – 21-18; T-1st California League South Division): The 66ers lost 4-2 at Lake Elsinore. Inland Empire took an early 2-0 lead on RBI hits by Luis Oliveros (WI ’02) and Brent Johnson (WI ’05). Justin Jordan (WI ’05) gave up one unearned run over 5-2/3 innings but got a no decision. The Storm scored a run off Jordan in the sixth, another run in the seventh and two more in the eighth.
