Seattle (MAJ: 69-75; 4th AL West): The Mariners beat the Blue Jays 4-2. Gil Meche (WI '98) struck out seven over 5-1/3 innings and allowed two runs for the win. JJ Putz (WI '00) got the save and Chris Snelling (WI '00) drove in one of the four Mariner runs.
Inland Empire (2nd round California League Playoffs): The 66ers beat the Storm 9-5 to win Game Four of their second round series and advance to the California League Championship Series. The Sixers trailed 5-0 heading into the top of the eighth inning, but scored six times in the eighth and three times in the ninth for the win. Josh Womack (WI '05) drove in the tying run in the eighth and added two more RBI in the ninth. Johan Limonta (WI '06) also drove in a pair of runs. Jon Lockwood (WI '05) got the win in relief.
