Mariner System Report (Games of 9/9)

Seattle (MAJ: 68-73; 4th AL West): The Mariners beat the Rangers 3-2 in thirteen innings. Emiliano Fruto (WI '02) got the win with 2-2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Oswaldo Navarro (WI '05) made his major league debut with a pinch hit sacrifice bunt as part of the game winning rally in the thirteenth.

Inland Empire (2nd round California League Playoffs): The 66ers beat Lake Elsinore 2-1 in eleven innings. Inland Empire was being no-hit through seven innings by Storm pitcher Chris Jaile. But, Jaile walked the lead-off batter in the bottom of the eighth and Brent Johnson (WI '05) drove in the run with a single later in the inning for a 1-0 lead. However, the Storm tied the game in the top of the ninth. A two-out error in the bottom of the eleventh allowed the winning run to score. Joe Woerman (WI '06) pitched a 1-2-3 top of the eleventh for the win.
